What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship contract is signed between a pre-approved employer and a graduate to attain trade-specific skills. The graduate must be associated with a registered Further Education and Training (FET) college. In South Africa, The National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) oversees the quality assurance of apprenticeships on behalf of the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations.
