A Medical Supply Company is currently recruiting a Planning & Procurement graduate to serve as an intern in their company. The desired candidate will have either an Accounting or Supply Chain Management qualification. Position is based in Edenvale, GP.
Role & Requirements:
o Importing and Costing of inventory onto the system;
o Work closely with the Product Managers to follow through on the product strategies, including monitoring &
analyzing product lines and expiries;
o Inventory is imported from our set suppliers (+/- 15 suppliers);
o Planning of the inventory purchasing would include assessing the stock levels and demand (sales and other)
for a wide range of inventory items (medical related);
o Complete the administration process of bringing the inventory onto the system in preparation for paying the
suppliers on time and at the correct value. This will include purchase order, physical inspection, receipting of
stock, and capturing of invoices for suppliers and clearing agents, including the evaluation of the costs and
resolving any variances.
o Assessment of the required returns and completing the process in the required time frame to minimize the
cost associated with the working capital investment.
o General review of inventory and improvement of the working capital of the business and making
recommendations to the Product Managers for improvement.
o Conducting stock takes and ensuring that the physical inventory agrees with the system.
o Apply professional values and ethics in the operational environment;
o Demonstrate an understanding of the supply chain environment
o evaluate the influences of key components in a supply chain
o Negotiate with suppliers;
o Analyse and supply management practices within the supply chain
o Monitor, assess and manage risk;
o Analyse logistic systems and implement appropriate strategic plans
o demonstrate an understanding of the key elements in developing strategies to optimize operational supply.
o Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or in Accounting (not Financial Management);
o Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel;
o JDE (or similar ERP) experience an advantage;
o Any previous work experience, whether formal or informal would be an advantage;
o Must be thorough and have attention to detail;
